You Need to Set-Up Your Poker Tables Somewhere - Where?

With all the interest in texas holdem poker, home poker games and special poker tournaments are a great way to enjoy the challenge of a lively poker table full of friends, family and other players.
In this part 1 of a 6 part article series, we'll cover a few tips to lighten the load of playing host for a poker tournament.
Part 1: Where To Host Your Poker Tournament.
If you're going to host a poker game, tables have to go somewhere. Most home games are just that... at a player's home. However, bars, clubs, restaurants, even some public buildings, will often welcome a pre-planned poker tournament, and often provide an area free of charge. Check local ordinances. Keep in mind poker for money is illegal in some areas, but just playing for free can still be exciting and fun. These establishments want customers, especially during their slow periods, and the players are customers. A poker game table is better than an empty table, and you can provide the poker table tops and the customers. Some have private rooms. This can also be easier for the host as they provide the service and refreshments for you, at no cost to the host. This can create affiliate relationships between the tournament host and the establishment. The customers, the tournament entrants, have value, especially during slow periods. Assure the merchant that you are an organized group. That you have all the poker chips, playing cards (maybe even the poker table tops) to conduct a timely and orderly tournament. This could offer up some co-promotional publicity and advertising opportunities. An Online Poker Shop will have the supplies you'll need.
Hosting a home tournament also works best with some pre-planning. With the right poker table and chips, poker is just that much better.
If you set up a roaming home game, folding poker tables where the legs fold up are almost a necessity. There are several less expensive poker table tops available as well as poker furniture that easily converts into a poker dining table. Eat then Play. These are beautiful poker game tables, but most are not very portable. They are more like poker furniture.
